This Privacy Policy explains how THE ALCHEMIST CODE LTD ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the CalTracker AI mobile application (the "App"), an AI‑powered calorie and nutrition tracker. By using the App you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Profile & goals: sex, age, height, weight, activity level and goal, used to calculate your calorie and macro targets.
- Nutrition & health data: the foods, drinks, water, and weight you log ("Health & Fitness data").
- Account (optional): if you choose to create an account, your email address (or the identifier from Sign in with Apple / Google). You can use the App as a guest without an account.
- Meal photos: if you use AI photo scanning, the image you capture is processed to estimate nutrition (see Section 4).
Information collected automatically
- Device & advertising identifiers and limited usage/diagnostic data, used for advertising and to keep the App reliable.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the App's core features: calculating targets, logging food, and showing your progress.
- To sync your profile and diary across your devices when you sign in.
- To show and measure advertising (for the free version).
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve the App.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
Your diary is stored on your device by default. If you sign in, your profile and diary are also synced to Google Firebase (Firestore) under your account so you can access them on other devices. We do not sell your personal data.
4. AI Photo Analysis
When you scan a meal, the photo is sent over a secure connection to our processing backend, which uses a third‑party AI vision model to estimate the food, portions, calories and macros, and returns the result to the App. Photos are used only to generate that estimate and are not used to identify you or sold to anyone. We do not retain your meal photos after processing.
5. Advertising & Tracking
The free version of the App shows ads through Google AdMob. On iOS, before any tracking we ask for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and we present a Google‑certified consent (UMP) message where required (e.g., in the EEA/UK). If you do not allow tracking, you will still see ads, but they will be less personalized. Premium subscribers do not see ads.

7. Data Retention & Deletion
Local data is removed when you delete the App. If you created an account, you can delete your account and its synced data from within the App (Settings) or by emailing us, and we will delete it from our systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We do not sell personal information.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Transfers
Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
